Even if Holden tested the first 100 units to come in, the manufacturers know this and build to suit. You can gaurantee they will try and make them as cheap as possible and there will be a teething issues while you flex your contractual muscle making them bring it up to scratch quality wise. You come back with a variety of quotes etc and all the suppliers/manufacturers say, no problem we can build within spec. Design then goes out to tender to be built. I can build something on the bench utilising components bought here in Aus and to my spec, then write the code and bench test it for a month and then field test without issue. Having designed and built electrical components for a variety of functions the software never lets you down its hardware tolerances(in saying that the code I am writing isn't that technical, mainly analytical). The issue won't be with the software running the thing it will be with the hardware. These should pretty much work straight away, not be full of faults, and unless the faults are fixed, either a monetary or other means of compensation will be needed, Bluetooth will read phonebook the first time (75% of the time) but not there after, unless bluetooth turned off on the phone and then back on.Īs a computer software validation technician, I will be taking this up with Holden and my dealer. Mine, radio drops out for a second or two, doesn't matter which station or frequency. Strange, its not like the issues are even consistant. Im not sure this is a car you want ot be driving mate. Other than that, the Redline drives real well. I think they need the car for the day to complete the changeover and then I guess I will have to restore the settings. Should be entertaining motoring in the interim. The bad news is TNT are on strike, the unit has to come from the East and wont be in Manjimup until next week. No quibbling or argument - pretty good I reckon. On the plus side, after conversing with Tech Assistance, Holden agreed to replace the centre unit processor or whatever it is called - about 2 grands worth as I understand things. It was quite entertaining actually waiting to see what happened next. Picked up the technician to drop me off at work and the doors went on auto lock about half way there. gets better.on the way to the dealer center, all the doors suddenly locked and the air con came on - a relief as it was already a hot day. An update - started car this morning and hey presto, the screen burst into life, albeit with the clock 4 hours behind, all radio settings lost and a different CD playing (disc 8 rather than disc 2) than when it all crashed.
